Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Curtly Ambrose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Colin Ayama!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ayama tries to keep at a distance but Ambrose has taken the fight into the clinch.
Ambrose lands a hook to the side of the head.
Ayama is trying to maintain a safe position but Ambrose gets an underhook and turns Ayama into the cage.
Ambrose looking to throw knees to the head but Ayama is blocking nicely.

Ambrose has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ayama regains guard immediately.
Ambrose sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Ambrose decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Ambrose feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ayama's calf.
Ambrose displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ayama throws out the jab.
Ambrose throws a nice inside leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ayama closes the distance but Ambrose moves to the side
and Ambrose counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like Colin Ayama has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ambrose connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Ambrose lands with a cross.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ayama moves in looking to clinch but Ambrose pushes him off.

and Ambrose counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Ambrose lands a jab to Ayama's midsection.
Ayama looks gassed!
Ambrose cracks a nice hook into Ayama's ribs.
Curtly Ambrose seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Look low, kick high! Ambrose uses the oldest trick in the book to send Ayama tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Ambrose is absolutely delighted - when Ayama wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Curtly Ambrose!
