Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Wayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitch Heijnens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Wayne! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mitch Heijnens! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wayne moves into the clinch. Wayne is working for takedown but Heijnens is calmly controlling the position for now. Heijnens pulls guard successfully.
Wayne has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Wayne throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Heijnens works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Heijnens is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Heijnens is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Heijnens pulls Wayne in close to prevent any damage. Wayne content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Heijnens bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wayne's guard. Wayne had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Heijnens defends it easily. Wayne is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Heijnens is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wayne keeping moving, preventing Heijnens from controlling successfully. Wayne looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Wayne looking to control but Heijnens passes into half guard.
Wayne is looking to improve his position.
Heijnens is looking to take a break and control but Wayne is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wayne looks like he's trying to stand up.
Heijnens seems to be working for a kimura but Wayne defends the submission attempt. Heijnens controlling the action here. Heijnens is keen to just control but Wayne is a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wayne gets full guard. Heijnens wants to get up but he can't break Wayne's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Wayne knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Heijnens on the ground. Wayne not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Heijnens wanted to stand there but Wayne had control of the position. Wayne scores with a nice shot. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Heijnens accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Wayne is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Heijnens is controlling him. Heijnens trying to control but Wayne is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Mitch Heijnens was stalling too much, according to the referee. Heijnens misses with a double jab.
Heijnens shoots and misses and Wayne counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Wayne. Heijnens looks gassed! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wayne postures up in Heijnens's guard and throws a big left but Heijnens blocks it. Wayne thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Wayne postures up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wayne trying to control but Heijnens is working from the bottom. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Heijnens is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Steve Wayne will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Wayne moves into the clinch. Heijnens goes for a takedown attempt but Wayne pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Wayne tries for a takedown but Heijnens sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Wayne dodges the punch combination from Heijnens.
Heijnens fails with an attempt to clinch.
Horrible takedown by Wayne or perhaps it was just good defense by Heijnens which made him look bad. Heijnens gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Wayne to score an easy takedown into full guard. Wayne wants to control from the top but Heijnens keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Heijnens is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Heijnens working for a triangle but Wayne defends it easily.
Heijnens is breathing heavily. Wayne advances position into side control! You can see the frustration on Heijnens's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Wayne lands a few punches from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Heijnens prevents Wayne from improving position. Wayne landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Wayne is trying to get an arm triangle but Heijnens is defending well. Wayne tries to move into full mount but can't pass Heijnens's legs. Heijnens tries to buck Wayne off but Wayne is having none of it. Wayne is chipping away with strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Heijnens takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wayne looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Wayne moves into full mount! Wayne is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Heijnens has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Heijnens! Heijnens is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Heijnens trying to control the position from guard on top but Wayne is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wayne on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wayne tries to get out of the position. Wayne is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Heijnens is controlling him. Wayne keeping moving, preventing Heijnens from controlling successfully. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mitch Heijnens. Wayne throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Wayne dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Heijnens tries to clinch up and Wayne counters by moving into the clinch. Heijnens wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Wayne has picked Heijnens up - he's going for a ride! Wayne dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Wayne lands with a punch from half guard. Heijnens wants to control the action here but instead Wayne manages to pass to full mount! Heijnens is working to get back to half guard.
Wayne tries to control but Heijnens wriggling away. Wayne working away from the top, dropping strikes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Heijnens tries to lock up and control but Wayne gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Heijnens takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wayne tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Heijnens taking shots to the head. Wayne can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Heijnens is looking to escape. Heijnens wants to hold on but Wayne pushes him away. Wayne trying to control but he's not successful this time. Wayne looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Heijnens covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
