Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Raphael Nero! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Josh Baldeh! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baldeh has his takedown stuffed and Nero counters with a right hand to the body. Baldeh misses with an uppercut. Nero saw that one coming. Baldeh needs to keep his hands up - Nero had a free shot at his head there. Baldeh takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Nero dives in and scores a takedown into Baldeh's guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Nero advances to half guard. Baldeh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nero. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Nero stalling. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Baldeh trying to control from the bottom.
Nero is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Nero will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Baldeh tries to roll over but Nero keeps him under control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baldeh looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Nero stalling. Nero lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Nero perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Baldeh is defending against the submission attempts here by Nero.
Nero scoring with strikes to the body and head. Nice strikes from Nero there. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nero scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nero trying to control the pace. Nero is trying to work for a kimura but Baldeh is defending well.

Nero sitting and controlling from the half guard. Nero looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Ground and pound from Nero. Nero slips a nice elbow through Baldeh's hands, connecting with Baldeh's forehead. Baldeh is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Nero scores with a couple of nice shots. Nero working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baldeh trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Nero prevents Baldeh from getting the reversal. Baldeh tries to hold on but Nero postures up. Nero pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Baldeh taking shots to the head. Nero dominating with strikes here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nero cracks Baldeh with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Raphael Nero! A very excited looking Raphael Nero made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
