The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ishikawa leaves Lewis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kaito Ishikawa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lewis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ishikawa, pushing him back against the cage.

Lewis manages to break the clinch.
Lewis avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ishikawa is looking to clinch but Lewis is avoiding it.
Ishikawa keeps the fight on the outside.
Ishikawa tries to close the distance and clinch but Lewis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ishikawa throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Lewis darts in and clinches Ishikawa up against the cage.
Ishikawa pushes off an throws an elbow but Lewis leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Lewis pulls Ishikawa into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Ishikawa is working Lewis over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Lewis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ishikawa prevents Lewis from getting back to his feet.
