The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall works Piper's body with a nice hook.
Piper keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hall has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Piper finds it's way round the side to connect with Hall's head.
Piper tries a head kick but it misses.
Piper moves in looking to clinch but Hall pushes him off.
Roddy Piper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Piper fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hall.
Piper attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Sloppy strikes from Hall. Those never looked like landing.
Piper misses with a double jab.
Piper goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Piper connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Piper looks to throw the jab but Hall is out of range.
A chopping leg kick lands by Piper.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A clash of legs there as Hall blocks the low kick.
Piper tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hall.

and Hall counters with a good low kick that Piper was not able to check.

Hall will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Piper fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hall.
Piper swings away with a leg kick that misses.
No joy there for Hall, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hall misses with a double jab.
Piper throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Piper uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hall.
Piper chopping away at his opponent's legs.
That kick from Piper tenderised Hall's leg. Hall is trying to keep his angry face on.
Hall tries to score a power double leg takedown but Piper sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hall somewhat.
Piper pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Hall throws a series of punches but Piper moves out of range.
Hall throws a right hand that Piper ducks under and follows up with a left that Piper also avoids with ease.
Roddy Piper is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Piper connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Piper swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hall.

It looks like Don Hall has been cut.
Piper throws a head kick that Hall semi-blocks.

and Piper counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Piper throws a nice outside leg kick.
Hall's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Hall misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Piper.

Piper uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hall.
Piper circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Hall drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Piper follows Hall to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
