The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Street tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jiurgite manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Street throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sloppy strikes from Street. Those never looked like landing. Street throws a leg kick that misses. Street takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Jiurgite scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Street is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jiurgite's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Jiurgite prevents Street from improving his position. Street is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Jiurgite looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Jiurgite manages to capitalize on a mistake by Street to take his back! This has been an exciting period of action! Street wants to escape the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jiurgite doesn't have the hooks in and Street manages to turn into his guard.

A close round but Michael Street will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
