Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Piotrek Nowak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Makoto Shibasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Nowak might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Fabolous ft. Jeremih - It's My Time. Shibasaki is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Genki Sudo - 'Mind Shift'. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Piotrek Nowak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Makoto Shibasaki!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nowak tries to clinch up but Shibasaki circles away and keeps his distance.

Nowak gets a takedown into half guard.
Nowak is keen to just control but Shibasaki is a slippery customer.
Nowak tries to stand and escape but Shibasaki actually recovers to full guard.

Shibasaki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nowak gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Nowak avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Nowak trying to control the position from guard on top but Shibasaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

and Shibasaki counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Nowak uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shibasaki.
Shibasaki buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Shibasaki slaps away a takedown attempt from Nowak, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Shibasaki throws a body punch but Nowak moves out of range.
Shibasaki shoots in but no luck this time.
Piotrek Nowak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Makoto Shibasaki.

Nowak gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Nowak drops his hands momentarily and Shibasaki takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Shibasaki shoots in for a takedown but Nowak shows good takedown defense.
Nowak uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Shibasaki.
Piotrek Nowak is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Nowak shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shibasaki sprawls well. Shibasaki wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nowak gets slowly back to his feet.

Nowak darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Nowak is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Shibasaki has managed to free his arm - good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shibasaki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Shibasaki is trying to maintain the position but Nowak is very close to passing his half guard.

Shibasaki pushes Nowak off looking to stand but Nowak dives back in and keeps control.
Nowak has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Nowak goes for an armbar but Shibasaki turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Shibasaki.

Shibasaki is persisting with his attempts to control the action in the clinch, rather than do any real damage.

Shibasaki keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Nowak's head.

Shibasaki got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nowak has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shibasaki has managed to get both his arms back between Nowak's legs - danger averted.

Shibasaki is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nowak is trying to hold Shibasaki in close to prevent damage but Shibasaki has managed to pass into half guard.

Nowak wants to control but Shibasaki is keeping busy and won't allow it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nowak tries a knee to the head but Shibasaki blocks it.

Shibasaki pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Piotrek Nowak has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Makoto Shibasaki seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Shibasaki misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Shibasaki cracks a nice hook into Nowak's ribs.

And that's the end of the fight!
Makoto Shibasaki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Shibasaki has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
