Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andre De La Rosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Stratton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andre De La Rosa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Stratton! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stratton scores with a takedown into De La Rosa's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Stratton makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. De La Rosa keeping moving, preventing Stratton from controlling successfully. Stratton is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Stratton postures up in De La Rosa's guard and throws a big left but De La Rosa blocks it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stratton is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Eric Stratton has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. De La Rosa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Stratton can't escape the position.

De La Rosa is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Stratton to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Stratton shrugs it off. De La Rosa looking for a guillotine from mount but Stratton is having none of it.

Stratton is concentrating on defense, preventing De La Rosa from advancing position. Stratton slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. De La Rosa trying to control but Stratton is working from the bottom. Stratton controls De La Rosa momentarily but De La Rosa frees himself. Stratton has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. De La Rosa steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Stratton. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. De La Rosa takes a shot right to the bread basket. Stratton tries to close the distance and clinch up but De La Rosa swats him away and circles back towards the center. This has been an exciting period of action! Stratton circles away from the clinch attempt.

De La Rosa slips under a jab from Stratton. A swing and a miss from Stratton. Horrible takedown by De La Rosa or perhaps it was just good defense by Stratton which made him look bad. and Stratton counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stratton is trying to control the action in half guard but De La Rosa is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The ref stands the fighters back up. Eric Stratton was stalling too much, according to the referee. Stratton connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between De La Rosa's hands. He has hold of a leg but De La Rosa is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Stratton persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Stratton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stratton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's four minutes gone in the round. De La Rosa had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stratton defends it easily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Stratton lands a couple of digs. De La Rosa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Stratton scoring with punches to the head and body. Stratton sitting in guard, not really doing much. De La Rosa is looking to sweep but instead, Stratton has passed into half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! De La Rosa looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Stratton pushes past his half guard into mount! Stratton connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

And that's the end of the fight! Eric Stratton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Stratton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
