The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters circling a little - Di Vaio finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Di Vaio moves into the clinch successfully.
Di Vaio prevents a takedown attempt there.
Di Vaio cracks Bashor with a nice body shot.

Di Vaio lands a body shot in the clinch.
Bashor looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Di Vaio lands a damaging elbow.

It looks like Jason Bashor has been cut.

Di Vaio breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bashor takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Bashor has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Di Vaio.
Di Vaio lands a nice leg kick that just misses Bashor's sensitive parts.
Bashor tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Bashor on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Di Vaio scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Di Vaio misses with the ground and pound.
Di Vaio trying to control the position but Bashor is working away.

Di Vaio tries for a kimura but Bashor is defending well.
The strikes coming from Di Vaio are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Di Vaio working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Di Vaio lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bashor down.

Bashor regains half guard, as Di Vaio was trying to land strikes.
Di Vaio thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Di Vaio thows a huge punch but Bashor dodges it nicely.

Di Vaio is looking for a kimura but Bashor is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Di Vaio to get the leverage.
Di Vaio frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Bashor tries to hold on but Di Vaio pushes him away.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Di Vaio cracks Bashor with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Di Vaio scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Di Vaio has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Di Vaio lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Bashor is rocked!
Di Vaio drops a big elbow. That's hurt Bashor! More shots from Di Vaio and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
