Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Samat Gaziev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Ctvrtlik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Samat Gaziev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bob Ctvrtlik! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gaziev wants to clinch up but Ctvrtlik keeps it at a distance. Gaziev tries to clinch there but Ctvrtlik circles away.
Ctvrtlik closes the distance and clinches up with Gaziev, looking for a takedown. Ctvrtlik pushes Gaziev against the cage but Gaziev circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ctvrtlik shoots in for a takedown but Gaziev shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ctvrtlik moves out of range as Gaziev strikes. Gaziev tries to clinch but Ctvrtlik is having none of it. Ctvrtlik changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gaziev tries to avoid it but Ctvrtlik manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gaziev to the ground. Gaziev escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Samat Gaziev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bob Ctvrtlik. Gaziev doesn't manage to clinch there - Ctvrtlik circles away.
Ctvrtlik tries to keep at a distance but Gaziev has taken the fight into the clinch. Ctvrtlik looking for a takedown. Ctvrtlik wants to take the fight to the mat but Gaziev manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Ctvrtlik is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Gaziev. Ctvrtlik can't get the takedown.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ctvrtlik can't get the takedown.
Ctvrtlik content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Ctvrtlik has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gaziev avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Ctvrtlik is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Ctvrtlik stalls. Gaziev pulls guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Gaziev wants to get back to his feet but Ctvrtlik is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ctvrtlik trying to move into half guard but instead Gaziev has managed to sweep! Gaziev with a nice head shot there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gaziev stands up from guard. Let's bang! Ctvrtlik shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gaziev as he avoids it easily. Gaziev fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gaziev throws out a loose jab but Ctvrtlik uses good head movement to avoid it. Ctvrtlik shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gaziev defends it nicely. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ctvrtlik tries to clinch but Gaziev moves out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ctvrtlik clinches with his opponent.
Ctvrtlik has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gaziev uses from the top position. Gaziev has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Gaziev has gone for a leg lock! Ctvrtlik slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gaziev's guard. Gaziev manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Ctvrtlik looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Gaziev tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ctvrtlik will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Gaziev misses with a straight left.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ctvrtlik moves in looking to clinch but Gaziev pushes him off. Gaziev keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ctvrtlik shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gaziev pinned against the cage. Gaziev gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ctvrtlik fails with a takedown attempt. Ctvrtlik looks gassed! Gaziev throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Ctvrtlik colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Gaziev as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Ctvrtlik is left battered and dazed whilst Gaziev and his camp cheer!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Samat Gaziev!
