Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sheldon Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zak Houk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cooper comes into the arena with star trek theme blaring out of the sound system. Houk has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cooper clinches up against the cage. Houk looks gassed! Cooper pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Houk swinging wildly here.
Cooper moves into the clinch successfully.
Houk tries to circle away but Cooper has him pinned against the cage. Cooper stalling against the cage.
Cooper decides to pull guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Cooper had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Houk defends it easily. Cooper has his feet on Houk's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Cooper rushes Houk and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cooper's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Cooper gets a clinch. Cooper breaks the clinch.
A telegraphed right hand from Houk misses the target. Cooper has taken the fight to the clinch.

Cooper shoots in but Houk avoids the takedown attempt easily. Cooper fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Houk, pushing him back against the cage. Cooper drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cooper is looking to take this one to the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sheldon Cooper. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cooper is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Houk is defending well. Cooper has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Houk is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Cooper breaks from the clinch.
Cooper darts in and clinches Houk up against the cage. Cooper escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cooper rushes Houk and presses him up against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cooper lands an elbow that stopped Houk in his tracks for a moment. Cooper gets control of Houk's arms and successfully pulls guard. Cooper will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cooper has his feet on Houk's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Houk throws a sloppy head kick and Cooper holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Cooper obliges. Cooper pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Cooper instigates a clinch. Houk being controlled against the cage. Cooper lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Houk gets underhooks to prevent Cooper's takedown attempt.
Cooper breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Cooper breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cooper clinches up against the cage. Cooper lands a nice elbow. Houk wants a takedown.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Houk can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The fight moves into the clinch position. Cooper works on Houk's body with a couple of short punches. Cooper gets control of Houk's arms and successfully pulls guard. Cooper will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Cooper is controlling Houk's posture. Houk is breathing heavily. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Cooper trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

We're going to have a standup here because Sheldon Cooper wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Houk stuffs the takedown attempt from Cooper. Cooper gets slowly back to his feet. Cooper moves into the clinch successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cooper manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Houk manages to get himself to full guard.
Cooper stays in close to Houk's body and controls the position. Cooper advances to half guard. Cooper decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Cooper fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Houk. Cooper closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Cooper breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cooper forces Houk back against the cage and clinches. Cooper's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The fight moves into the clinch position. Cooper tries for a takedown but Houk manages to get underhooks.

Houk looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Cooper fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Houk, pushing him back against the cage. Cooper landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Cooper closes the distance and clinches. Cooper jumps into guard, dragging Houk to the mat.
Cooper pushes Houk off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Cooper shoots in looking for a takedown. Houk tries to sprawl out of it but Cooper keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Houk manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cooper lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Houk backs up against the cage.

Cooper gets tackled into the cage by Houk. Houk maintains the clinch. Cooper is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Houk can't fight it off and eventually Cooper manages to take the fight to the floor. Houk looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Cooper is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Cooper decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Houk, up you get!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cooper moves into the clinch. Houk stops a takedown attempt from Cooper.
Houk has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Cooper has Houk pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Houk manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Sheldon Cooper is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Houk swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Houk is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Cooper tries for a takedown. No joy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The referee is keeping an eye on Cooper - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Zak Houk has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Houk trying to control the position but instead, Cooper has worked for underhooks and has pushed Houk into the cage.
And that's the end of the fight! Sheldon Cooper showed his dominance in that final round. Well Cooper has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
