The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliver tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Nurmagomedov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Oliver gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Oliver works on Nurmagomedov's body with a couple of short punches.
Oliver breaks the clinch.
Oliver misses with a jab, cross combination.
Oliver closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nurmagomedov quickly recovers to half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Nurmagomedov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Nurmagomedov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Oliver gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Oliver wants to pass the guard but Nurmagomedov is keeping the position.
Oliver gets to his feet. Nurmagomedov looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Oliver fails in his attempt to clinch.
Nurmagomedov needs to keep his hands up - Oliver had a free shot at his head there.
Oliver throws a lazy uppercut
and Nurmagomedov counters with a series of strikes. Oliver will be more careful next time no doubt.
Oliver clinches up with Nurmagomedov and pushes him back against the cage.

Oliver wants to stand up but Nurmagomedov has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Nurmagomedov is pressing down on Oliver's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
