Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mak Frajd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Halloway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Max Halloway has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mak Frajd's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mak Frajd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Max Halloway! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frajd throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Halloway. Halloway lands with a kick to the temple. Frajd shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Halloway fails with a takedown attempt. Halloway stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Halloway wants it to stay on the feet. A punch combination from Frajd misses. Frajd closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Frajd lands in his opponent's guard. Halloway is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Frajd is controlling him. Halloway working for a triangle but Frajd defends it easily.
Frajd wants to control from the top but Halloway keeps moving. Halloway really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Frajd. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Halloway is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Halloway can do anything to dispel that myth. Frajd drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Frajd jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Frajd thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Halloway keeping moving, preventing Frajd from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Frajd postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Halloway is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Frajd, into his guard. Halloway is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Frajd has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Halloway is looking to defend but Frajd has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Halloway! Frajd pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Halloway taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Mak Frajd!
