PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gary Ridgway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Butch Gunner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ridgway might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Psychosocial. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunner slips under a jab.
Ridgway lands a nice shot to the body.

Gunner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gunner cracks Ridgway with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Butch Gunner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ridgway fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gunner manages to avoid it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ridgway will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Gunner tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ridgway swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Gunner decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Ridgway wants to improve his position but Gunner is controlling well.

Ridgway has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gunner is working away from the top position though.

Gary Ridgway has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Butch Gunner.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gunner dives in and scores a takedown into Ridgway's guard.
Ridgway might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Ridgway is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gunner postures up.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ridgway looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Gunner puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Gunner in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Ridgway tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Gunner!
