Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mike Durham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Van Hook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Durham's entrance music is Mercy. A fine choice. Van Hook has chosen The Cure's Close To Me as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Mike Durham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

21 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kyle Van Hook!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durham lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Durham shoots in looking for a takedown. Van Hook tries to sprawl out of it but Durham keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Van Hook manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Durham catches Van Hook with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Durham scores with a shot to the body.
Durham moves out of range of the body kick.
Durham moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Van Hook uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Durham.
A jab from Durham finds it's way through Van Hook's defenses.
Van Hook throws a push kick but Durham slaps the foot to one side.
Van Hook takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Durham shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Van Hook manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Van Hook is looking to stand up but Durham isn't so interested in that idea.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Durham accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Durham throws a big right hand that misses.
Durham looking to sit in guard and control but Van Hook gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Durham wants to sweep but no luck.
Durham is pulling down on Van Hook's head to control his posture.

Van Hook wants to stand but Durham is controlling his posture from full guard.
Durham looking for a sweep. Not yet Durham, not yet.
Durham looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Van Hook has picked Durham up and slammed him! Durham can't keep hold of the triangle and Van Hook manages to pass to side control!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Durham is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Van Hook pulls his head out easily.

Durham has a hand on Van Hook's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Van Hook takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Durham throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Durham fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Van Hook looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Van Hook throws a push kick but Durham slaps the foot to one side.
Durham digs a good body shot into Van Hook's ribs.
Van Hook lands a leg kick that knocks Durham off balance momentarily.

Durham lands a nice shot that snaps Van Hook's head back.
Durham throws a shot from downtown. Van Hook moves away and avoids it.

and Van Hook finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
No luck for Durham with that takedown attempt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Van Hook uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Durham.

Durham comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Durham connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Van Hook's hands.
Durham bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Durham is stalling here. Van Hook is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Durham seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Van Hook has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
