Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick House (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marc Schmidt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). House's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Sleezy D - I've Lost Control. Schmidt has chosen Rammstein - Feuer Frei as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Marc Schmidt enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick House!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marc Schmidt!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Schmidt closes the distance and clinches.
House drops down looking for an ankle pick but Schmidt pulls his leg out and moves away.
Schmidt lands a slapping body shot.
House moves out of range of the body kick.
Schmidt takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Schmidt ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
House takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Schmidt feints a jab promting House to slip. Schmidt then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. House slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
House tries to clinch up.
A head kick misses from Schmidt.
Schmidt stuffs the takedown attempt from House. House gets slowly back to his feet.

House gets caught flat footed, as Schmidt shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
House controlling Schmidt's posture.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Schmidt wants to get up but he can't break House's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
House trying to control the position here.
House looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

House scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Schmidt tries to clinch but House moves out of range.
A punch combination from Schmidt misses.
Schmidt throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

House gets a clinch.

Schmidt manages to break the clinch.
House takes a kick to the side of the head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Schmidt. House does a little dance to reset his feet.

Schmidt clinches with his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

House pulls guard.
Schmidt wants to stand but House is controlling his posture from full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

House looking for a guillotine here but Schmidt defends easily.
House controlling the position.

Schmidt wanted to stand there but House had control of the position.
House managing to control the position.
Schmidt would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
House working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Schmidt.
Schmidt wants to stand and escape but instead House has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
House is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Schmidt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with House. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

House looking to pass the guard.
House working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Schmidt's head.
House stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Schmidt swivels though and keeps the full guard.
House is looking to work some ground and pound but Schmidt has wrist control.
House trying to control but Schmidt is working from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
House looking to pass the guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marc Schmidt dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



House clinches with his opponent.
House tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Schmidt smiles and moves away.
Schmidt thuds his shin into the meat of House's side.
House looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Schmidt throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
House misses with a few strikes there.
House takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
House misses with a wild combination.
Marc Schmidt seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Schmidt shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
This has been an exciting period of action!
House tries to reverse the position but Schmidt maintains control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Schmidt has hold of House's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and House manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Schmidt prevents House from getting the reversal.
Schmidt wants to get back to his feet but House is holding on tight.
House regains half guard.
Schmidt throwing shots but House is blocking nicely.
Schmidt tries to stand but his hand is stuck under House.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
House makes his way to full guard. A much better position for House.

House kicks Schmidt off and gets to his feet.
House shoots in looking for a takedown but Schmidt manages to keep the fight standing, pushing House's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick House. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Schmidt scores with a shot to the body.
House tries to clinch but Schmidt is having none of it.
House fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Schmidt swinging wildly here.
Nick House seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Schmidt just misses with a punch to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Crunch! Schmidt slams his shin into House's torso.

House shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Schmidt as he avoids it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Schmidt fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Schmidt shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in House's guard.
Schmidt is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
House keeping moving, preventing Schmidt from controlling successfully.
Schmidt must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
House manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
House is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

House wants to finish this one by submission but Schmidt is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from House.
Schmidt is just holding on here. House manages to take his back.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Schmidt has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Schmidt is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get House off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - House's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

House is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Schmidt with him. Schmidt is trying to defend but House has an arm under the chin now! Schmidt grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Nick House!
An out of breath Nick House thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
