Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Salath Sar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gino Matic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Salath Sar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gino Matic! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Matic closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sar circles away. Sar fails with a takedown attempt. Matic looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Matic gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sar to score an easy takedown into full guard. Sar cracks Matic with a solid left hand. Sar drops back looking for a leg! Matic is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Matic manages to kick Sar off! Sar jumps back into Matic's guard. Sar trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Matic manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Sar lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Matic!
That's one minute gone in the round. Matic wants to get back to his feet.
Sar moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Matic has worked his arm free - good work by Matic!
Matic is looking for a sweep. Sar is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Matic is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Matic throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Sar is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Matic knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Sar tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sar has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Matic wants to control but Sar postures up. Sar looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Matic tries to buck Sar off but Sar is having none of it. Sar tries for a kimura but Matic is defending well. Sar wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Matic, who protects the arm well. Sar looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Sar working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sar is trying to get an arm triangle but Matic is defending well. Sar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Matic tries to get back to half guard but can't. Matic is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Sar advances to full mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Matic wants to control but Sar is having none of it. Matic is trying desperately to improve position. Sar landing strikes, looking to finish!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Matic is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Sar goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Matic is on top in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sar is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Matic wants to control from the top but Sar keeps moving. Matic loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Matic trying to control but Sar is working from the bottom. Sar is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sar keeping moving, preventing Matic from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Salath Sar dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Matic closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sar's guard. Sar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Matic doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Matic manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Sar throws his legs up looking for a submission but Matic uses it to pass to side control.
Salath Sar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sar is not content to let Matic control the position. Matic sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Sar is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Matic tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Matic wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sar keeps working. Sar wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's one minute gone in the round. Sar tries to bench press Matic off him but Matic keeps the position. Matic advances nicely into full mount. Sar really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Sar taking shots to the head. Sar tries to get back to half guard but can't. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Matic cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Sar regains half guard. Matic wants to stand up but Sar has a hold of him and won't allow it. Matic decides to return to a standing position. Salath Sar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Matic dives in and grabs Sar's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sar pushes down on Matic's head and hops out. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Matic fails to land the takedown. Sar shoots in for a takedown but Matic shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Matic is looking to clinch. Matic drives through with a takedown into guard. Sar is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Sar looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Matic wants to control from the top but Sar keeps moving. Sar looking for a guillotine here but Matic defends easily.
Matic is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Matic won't allow Sar to sweep him here. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Matic wants to control from the top but Sar keeps moving.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Gino Matic hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. A big left from Sar misses. Matic shoots in for a double leg but Sar sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Salath Sar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gino Matic. Matic changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sar tries to avoid it but Matic manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sar to the ground. Sar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Matic rushes Sar and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Sar is trying to push Matic away but Matic has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Sar has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Matic can't get the takedown.
Sar keeps control of Matic as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Matic tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sar smiles and moves away.

and Matic counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sar won't be happy with that. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Matic stands up and we're back to a striking position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Matic shoots in but Sar avoids the takedown attempt easily. Matic tries to clinch up but Sar circles away and keeps his distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gino Matic showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Nice defenses there by Matic. Matic shoots in for a takedown but Sar shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Sar works the jab nicely. Sar fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Sar shoots in and drives through. Matic sprawls well. Matic shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Matic trying to control but he's not successful this time. Sar tries to get back to half guard but can't. Sar sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Sar is looking to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sar gets full guard. Sar has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Matic off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Matic shoots in looking for a takedown but Sar manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Matic's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Sar shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Matic manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Sar tries to free his leg and advance position but Matic is retaining full guard. Matic pulls Sar in close to prevent any damage. Sar lands a couple of decent looking shots. Sar has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Sar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Matic swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sar advances position into side control!

Sar has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Matic is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Sar yanks on the arm and Matic is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Sar.
