Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Japan Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Owen Wash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Japan Fighter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Owen Wash!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fighter drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Wash wants to stand and escape but Fighter is having none of it.

Wash escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fighter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Fighter content to stall in guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wash keeping moving, preventing Fighter from controlling successfully.

We're going to have a standup here because Japan Fighter wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Fighter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wash pinned against the cage. Wash gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wash shoots in but Fighter avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Fighter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Fighter showed some decent athleticism there.
Fighter works his way into full mount!
Wash sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fighter slows the pace down in half guard.

Fighter is thwarting Wash's attempts to control the position.
Wash might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Fighter kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Wash is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fighter controlling the action here.
Fighter seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wash for as long as he can get away with.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Fighter closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Wash wants to control the action here but instead Fighter manages to pass to full mount!
Wash keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Fighter has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Wash tries to hold on but Fighter postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Japan Fighter just wasn't active enough.
Wash tries a head kick but it misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wash is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Nice sprawl there from Fighter as Wash shoots in.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Fighter seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Wash is holding on to half guard well.
Wash manages to get to full guard.
Fighter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Wash is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fighter is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Wash is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Fighter shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wash sprawls well. Wash wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fighter gets slowly back to his feet.

Fighter decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wash is looking to control Fighter's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wash avoid being mounted?
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Owen Wash.

Fighter fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Wash to the ground. Fighter is now in Wash's guard.
Fighter looking to sit in guard and control but Wash gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Wash trying to control but Fighter is working from the bottom.

Wash avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Fighter tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Fighter working for a triangle but Wash defends it easily.
Fighter keeping moving, preventing Wash from controlling successfully.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Wash stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fighter swivels though and keeps the full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fighter is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Japan Fighter dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Wash tries to clinch but Fighter moves out of range.
Wash stuffs the takedown attempt from Fighter. Fighter gets slowly back to his feet.

Fighter looking to score a takedown here. Wash is defending well but Fighter drives through and ends up in Wash's guard.
Wash is trying to keep Fighter in close.

Wash looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Fighter trying to control but Wash is working from the bottom.
Fighter not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Fighter trying to control the position from guard on top but Wash is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Japan Fighter has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Fighter fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Fighter.
Fighter lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Wash seems a little lost for a moment, as Fighter dominates the positioning.
Japan Fighter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fighter trying to control the action but Wash is working from the bottom.
Japan Fighter is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fighter is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Wash's shoulder. That is not cool.
Wash tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Fighter wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Fighter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wash on the ground.

Japan Fighter has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Wash doesn't manage to clinch there - Fighter circles away.
Fighter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Japan Fighter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fighter fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Fighter changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wash looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Wash tries to buck Fighter off but Fighter is having none of it.
Wash wants to control but Fighter postures up.
Wash takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Fighter in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Fighter's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Fighter tries to move to mount but Wash blocks the move with his legs.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Wash looking for a sweep but Fighter has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Fighter scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Wash?

Fighter lands a heavy elbow.
Fighter tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wash tries to get back to half guard but can't.

And that's the end of the fight!
Japan Fighter showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Fighter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
