Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gullermo Vargas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alek Krushnov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gullermo Vargas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alek Krushnov! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vargas misses with a double jab.
Vargas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Krushnov paws at him with a jab and circles away. Vargas tries to clinch up but Krushnov circles away and keeps his distance. Krushnov closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Vargas's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Krushnov's corner is telling him to maintain position. It looks like Krushnov might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Vargas trying to control the position here. Krushnov is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Alek Krushnov has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Krushnov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vargas is fending him off so far but Krushnov persists. Nope, Vargas circles away and we're back to standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vargas fails with the takedown and Krushnov counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Vargas! Vargas wants to control but Krushnov is having none of it. Krushnov controlling from mount. Let's hope that Krushnov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Krushnov stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Krushnov takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Krushnov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Vargas gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Krushnov counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Vargas! Krushnov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vargas wants to hold on but Krushnov pushes him away. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Krushnov content just to control the position here.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Alek Krushnov. Krushnov avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Vargas fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Krushnov darts in and clinches Vargas up against the cage. Vargas can't break the clinch.

Krushnov tries to score a body lock takedown but Vargas shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Krushnov has hold of one of Vargas's legs. Vargas is fighting the takedown attempt but Krushnov gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Krushnov is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alek Krushnov dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Vargas fails with a takedown attempt. Krushnov takes a swing at Vargas's ribcage but misses. Vargas moves in looking to clinch but Krushnov pushes him off. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vargas wants to clinch but Krushnov slips to the side and Krushnov counters with a shoot takedown. Vargas fights it but they end up in guard. Vargas trying to control the position.
Krushnov stays in close to Vargas's body and controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Krushnov trying to control but Vargas is working from the bottom. Krushnov is fighting to break Vargas's control of his arms but Vargas is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A right-left combo lands from Vargas. Krushnov rushes Vargas and presses him up against the cage. Krushnov avoiding damage.
Krushnov tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Vargas smiles and moves away.
Krushnov looking to score a takedown here. Vargas is defending well but Krushnov drives through and ends up in Vargas's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Krushnov showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Krushnov decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Vargas, up you get! Krushnov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Krushnov wants it to stay on the feet. The fight stays on the outside here - Krushnov looks like he's thinking about clinching though. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vargas looks to clinch and Krushnov counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Vargas throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Krushnov is taking a breather. Vargas says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Alek Krushnov has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vargas is defending against the submission attempts here by Krushnov.

Vargas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Krushnov slows the pace down in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Alek Krushnov was stalling too much, according to the referee. Vargas swings for the body but Krushnov moves out of range.

Vargas closes this distance looking for a takedown but Krushnov circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gullermo Vargas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vargas shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Krushnov sprawls well. Krushnov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vargas gets slowly back to his feet. Gullermo Vargas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vargas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alek Krushnov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Krushnov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vargas swats him away and circles back towards the center. Krushnov is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Vargas. Vargas goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Vargas pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Vargas punishes Krushnov's body with a nice straight punch. Krushnov tries to clinch up but Vargas circles away and keeps his distance. Vargas gets caught napping as Krushnov dives in and scores a takedown. Vargas manages to retain guard. Krushnov passes Vargas's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Vargas controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Vargas tries to kick Krushnov off but Krushnov keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Krushnov content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Krushnov's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Krushnov throwing shots but Vargas is blocking nicely. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Alek Krushnov wasn't active enough on the ground. Vargas uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Krushnov. Vargas moves in looking to clinch but Krushnov pushes him off. Vargas motions for Krushnov to come forward. Vargas throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vargas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Krushnov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vargas somewhat. Both fighters are breathing heavily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Krushnov. Vargas fails to land with a series of punches.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Krushnov shoots in but Vargas avoids the takedown attempt easily. Gullermo Vargas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alek Krushnov. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Krushnov. Good exchange - Vargas coming out on top. Vargas throws a right hand that Krushnov ducks under and follows up with a left that Krushnov also avoids with ease. Krushnov on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Krushnov shoots for a takedown but Vargas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vargas shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Krushnov pinned against the cage. Krushnov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Vargas slaps away a takedown attempt from Krushnov, before circling back to the center of the mat. Vargas wants to clinch but Krushnov slips to the side and Krushnov moves into the clinch. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Krushnov lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Gullermo Vargas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Alek Krushnov is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Krushnov is looking to take this one to the mat.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Alek Krushnov. I've got Krushnov winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
