PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Mert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mert is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Pregador Luo - Bate Pesadão. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mert tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Henderson swivels and escapes.

Henderson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mert is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Henderson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Mert has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Henderson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Henderson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mert uses from the top position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Henderson is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
