Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Coleman Jr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Junior Gracie! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie doesn't succeed with the takedown so Coleman Jr counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Gracie working for submissions but it's allowed Coleman Jr to get to half guard.
Coleman Jr lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Coleman Jr lands a nice short elbow. Coleman Jr works his foot free and advances to mount. Coleman Jr is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gracie can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Coleman Jr controlling the pace for now. Gracie is desperately trying to improve his position but Coleman Jr has a good base and remains in mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coleman Jr dominating with strikes here. Coleman Jr is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Gracie is rocked! Coleman Jr with good strikes from the mount here! Gracie is still in real trouble! Can Coleman Jr finish him? Coleman Jr jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Gracie manages to avoid the submission attempt. Coleman Jr cracks Gracie with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Coleman Jr immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Gracie is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Coleman Jr!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Coleman Jr! Mark Coleman Jr tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
