Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nick shannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frederik Valefar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valefar has chosen New Millenium Cyanide Christ - Meshuggah as his entrance music. Frederik Valefar is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick shannon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frederik Valefar!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Columbo Gatti and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valefar lands an overhand right.
Valefar gets a takedown into half guard.
Valefar is working for a kimura but shannon is defending it quite comfortably.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
shannon has a hand on Valefar's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Valefar takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Valefar takes shannon's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, shannon is in trouble.
shannon turns into Valefar and is now in his guard.
shannon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Valefar is keeping the position for now.
shannon throwing strikes but missing.
Valefar is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

shannon won't allow Valefar to sweep him here.
Valefar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. shannon manages to get himself to full guard.
shannon keeping full guard, as Valefar tries to pass.
shannon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Valefar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Valefar stands and throws shannon's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Valefar is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. shannon knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Valefar looks gassed!
Valefar tries for a kimura but shannon is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
shannon is looking to regain half guard here but Valefar keeps moving and retains side control.
shannon manages to work his way to half guard, despite Valefar's best efforts.
Valefar is looking to advance position but shannon won't allow it.
Valefar with the ground and pound but shannon uses the opportunity to regain guard.
shannon keeping moving, preventing Valefar from controlling successfully.
Valefar seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
shannon is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Valefar throws a big right hand that misses.
shannon throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
shannon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Valefar is one step ahead there.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
shannon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
shannon throws a head kick but Valefar moves out of range.
Valefar feints and as shannon raises his hands in defense, Valefar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

You can see the frustration on shannon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
shannon tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Valefar trying to control the action but shannon is working from the bottom.
shannon throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Valefar working away.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
shannon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
shannon lands a brutal head kick. Valefar looks out on his feet and shannon throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
