Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vadim Makritsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Horse Spudd!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Roberts and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spudd drops his hands momentarily and Makritsky takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Makritsky lands a two punch combo.
Makritsky throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Spudd.
Spudd slips a jab and a cross from Makritsky.
Spudd swings for the body but Makritsky moves out of range.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Makritsky stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spudd swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Makritsky will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Spudd tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Makritsky manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Makritsky takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Spudd closes the distance but Makritsky moves to the side
and Makritsky counters with a lovely shot to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spudd shoots in for a double leg but Makritsky sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Makritsky wants the takedown. Spudd is fighting it off but Makritsky persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Spudd's guard against the cage.

Makritsky's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

and Makritsky counters with a straight right hand.
Vadim Makritsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Horse Spudd.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Spudd shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Makritsky as he jumps to the side.
Spudd doesn't manage to clinch there - Makritsky circles away.
Makritsky lands a right hook to the body.
Makritsky ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Spudd moves away.

Makritsky defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Spudd.
Spudd will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Makritsky lands with a nice combination. Spudd backs away looking to recover.

Spudd is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Makritsky just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Spudd has gone limp and this one is over!
