Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Akira Maeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenichi Uzomaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akira Maeda!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenichi Uzomaki!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uzomaki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Maeda's waist but Maeda gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Uzomaki off to one side.

Uzomaki shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Uzomaki is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Maeda is just riding it out for now. Uzomaki eventually gives up the hold.
Maeda is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Maeda is working hard here to advance position.
Maeda is trying to maintain the position but Uzomaki is very close to passing his half guard.
Maeda knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Uzomaki on the ground.

Uzomaki is looking for a kimura but Maeda is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Uzomaki to get the leverage.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Maeda is looking for a sweep. Uzomaki is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Uzomaki is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Maeda keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Maeda is trying to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Akira Maeda wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Maeda plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Uzomaki showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Maeda.
Uzomaki looks for a takedown but Maeda sprawls well.

Maeda connects with a crisp jab.
Uzomaki takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Maeda wants to land a leg kick but Uzomaki is out of range.
A slapping leg kick lands for Maeda.
Uzomaki checks the leg kick.
Maeda bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Maeda avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Akira Maeda is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Uzomaki tries for a takedown but Maeda sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Akira Maeda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenichi Uzomaki.
A cross from Maeda lands.
Maeda connects with the punch.
Uzomaki shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Maeda. Uzomaki shrugs it off though.
Uzomaki looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Uzomaki takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Maeda scores with a leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Maeda throws a leg kick which misses Uzomaki's front leg but catches the back leg as Uzomaki tries to avoid it.
Maeda tries a head kick but it misses.
Maeda throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Maeda lands with an overhand left.
Maeda slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Maeda throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
A kick lands to the mid section there for Maeda.
Uzomaki chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Maeda can pounce on him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Akira Maeda dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Maeda lands a head shot.
Maeda lands a front kick.
Maeda scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Maeda is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Uzomaki can do to turn this around?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

It looks like Kenichi Uzomaki has been cut.
Maeda scores with a hook.
Maeda digs a good hook to Uzomaki's body.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Maeda! Uzomaki is out on his feet! Maeda rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Uzomaki is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Uzomaki is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Akira Maeda!
