The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wash takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Wash has managed to clinch.
Wash is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Yang can't fight it off and eventually Wash manages to take the fight to the floor. Yang looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Wash sitting in guard here, content to control. Wash throws a big right hand that misses. Wash pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Yang is keeping the position for now. Wash slips nicely into half guard. Yang wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wash has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Yang defend it? Wash steps over the head and cranks it - Yang is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Wash!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Owen Wash!
