Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Japan Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jin Jin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Japan Fighter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jin Jin!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fighter shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Well, if Fighter is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fighter connects with a nice short shot to Jin's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fighter content to control rather than advance.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Japan Fighter wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Fighter takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jin Jin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A slapping leg kick lands for Jin.

Fighter fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jin sprawls well initially but Fighter persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fighter seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Fighter moves nicely into side control.

Fighter controlling the pace for now.

Fighter seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jin for as long as he can get away with.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Japan Fighter has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Jin stuffs the takedown.

Fighter feints and as Jin raises his hands in defense, Fighter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jin wants to stand up but Fighter is controlling him.
Fighter in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Fighter's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Fighter throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Fighter not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Japan Fighter has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jin enables Fighter to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Japan Fighter dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Jin tries to sprawl but Fighter drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Jin is in trouble now - Fighter has advanced to mount!

Fighter's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Fighter lands with some strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fighter is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jin can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Fighter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jin can do to turn this around?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jin is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Japan Fighter just wasn't active enough.

Jin wants to stand but Fighter is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fighter is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Fighter moves out of range of the body kick from Jin.

Fighter looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jin is fending him off so far but Fighter persists. Nope, Jin circles away and we're back to standing.
Jin throws a leg kick which misses Fighter's front leg but catches the back leg as Fighter tries to avoid it.

Fighter feints and as Jin raises his hands in defense, Fighter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fighter looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fighter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Japan Fighter showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Fighter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
