The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quick throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Silva.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Quick swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Quick uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Silva.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Quick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcus Quick will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Quick connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Marcus Quick.

Quick feints a jab promting Silva to slip. Quick then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Silva slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Silva takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Quick stands up and waves to Silva to follow him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Quick, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
