The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kato throws a body punch but van Bruggen moves out of range.

van Bruggen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kato swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kato fakes high and swings low for a body shot but van Bruggen manages to avoid it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kato enables van Bruggen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kato manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sun Kato.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kato, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
