Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ben Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Ellis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jose Silva! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Silva stuffs the takedown. Silva walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Ellis checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Silva takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Silva goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Ellis gets a clinch. Silva is looking to break free of the clinch but Ellis has double underhooks. Ellis jumps guard but Silva stands there with Ellis around his waist. Ellis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Silva is trying to break free. Silva pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ellis fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ben Ellis. That's going to take a lot out of him. A good leg kick by Silva. Ellis looking for a takedown here - he's got it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Ellis would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Silva is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ellis wants to get up but he can't break Silva's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Silva looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ellis trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Silva can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ellis controls the pace. We're going to have a standup here because Ben Ellis wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Silva misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ellis tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range. Ellis avoids a kick to the body.
Ellis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Ellis fails to land the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A nice inside leg kick there by Ellis. That's going to slow Silva down. Silva throws a nice looking combination but Ellis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jose Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ellis swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva. Silva slaps away a takedown attempt from Ellis, before circling back to the center of the mat. Silva instigates a clinch. Ellis jumps guard but Silva stands there with Ellis around his waist. Ellis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Silva's face as he tries to break the clinch. Ellis pulls guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Silva wants to control from the top but Ellis keeps moving. Ellis controls Silva momentarily but Silva frees himself. Silva decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ellis, up you get!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva throws a head kick that misses and Ellis counters with a flying knee. Nice. Ellis connects with a leg kick. Silva looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Silva throws a leg kick but Ellis checks it. A punch lands to the side of Ellis 's head but he takes it in his stride. Ellis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ellis fails with the takedown. A low kick from Silva is predictable there letting Ellis counter with a right hand.
Silva is rocked! Ellis fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Silva to the ground. Ellis is now in Silva's guard. Silva is still in real trouble! Can Ellis finish him? The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ellis stands up from guard. Let's bang! Ellis finds Silva's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Silva flops back against the ropes, eyes gazing into the distance. Ellis lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Silva will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ben Ellis!
