Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gigi Ceausu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piugnu Kopo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gigi Ceausu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Piugnu Kopo! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kopo looks for a takedown but Ceausu sprawls well. Kopo doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ceausu counters with a stiff right hand. Ceausu throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kopo was covering up waiting for the punch and Ceausu finishes the takedown easily into guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Kopo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ceausu works a leg free and moves into half guard. Kopo wants to control but Ceausu is keeping busy.
Kopo wants to improve his position but Ceausu is controlling well.
Ceausu controlling the action here. Kopo is trying to get back to full guard. Ceausu working over Kopo with some ground and pound. Kopo looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ceausu trying to control the pace. Ceausu is nestled in close to Kopo, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Ceausu prevents Kopo from improving his position. Ceausu slows the pace down in half guard. Kopo tries to get to full guard but Ceausu has control of the leg. Ceausu is thwarting Kopo's attempts to control the position. Kopo looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Kopo taking some punishment here, with Ceausu in his half guard. Kopo tries to get to full guard but Ceausu has control of the leg. Ceausu performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ceausu lands strikes from half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ceausu with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Kopo is looking to get back to full guard here but Ceausu has managed to pass to side control instead. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Ceausu working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Ceausu connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kopo some visible discomfort.
Ceausu happy to just control the position for now. Kopo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ceausu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ceausu lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Ceausu lands some shots froms side control. Ceausu controlling the position from side mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ceausu seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kopo for as long as he can get away with. Kopo wants to control but Ceausu postures up. Kopo trying to remain calm as Ceausu controls from the top position. Ceausu working the head and body with strikes. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Ceausu has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Kopo is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Ceausu is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kopo has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ceausu controlling the position. Ceausu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kopo is trying to get back to half guard. Ceausu creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Check out the look on Ceausu's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Kopo is still in real trouble! Can Ceausu finish him? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Ceausu advances to full mount. Ceausu lands a big shot to the head and Kopo winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
