The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Golota will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Hex tries to clinch but Golota is having none of it.
Hex wants to clinch.
Golota looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Golota just misses with a punch to the body.
Golota throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hex, right into the meat.
Hex doesn't manage to clinch there - Golota circles away.
Golota throws a series of punches but Hex avoids them all with ease.

Golota throws a low kick but it's checked well by Hex.
Golota avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Golota throws a hook but Hex avoids it easily.
Hex throws a leg kick which misses Golota's front leg but catches the back leg as Golota tries to avoid it.

and Hex counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hex.

Andrew Golota seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Golota misses with a low kick.
A low kick from Golota is predictable there
and Hex counters with a crisp one two that drops Golota! Hex thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Golota to his feet! Golota is in big trouble!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hex creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Golota's defenses.
