Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Gonawyn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonawyn comes to the cage accompanied by Crush 'em - Megadeth. Mir has chosen Amazing as his entrance music. King Gonawyn could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Frank Mir's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, King Gonawyn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonawyn shoots for a double leg takedown but Mir sprawls well. He's pushed Gonawyn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mir shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gonawyn as he avoids it easily.

letting Mir counter with a right hand.
Mir moves in looking to clinch but Gonawyn pushes him off.

Gonawyn stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gonawyn wants it to stay on the feet.
King Gonawyn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Mir.
Mir shoots in and bounces Gonawyn off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Gonawyn uses the cage to get back to his feet.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gonawyn tries to close the distance and clinch but Mir swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mir tries to keep at a distance but Gonawyn has taken the fight into the clinch.

Mir has picked Gonawyn up - he's going for a ride! Mir dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Gonawyn is staying active underneath Mir, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Mir is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gonawyn sees it coming and defends easily.
Gonawyn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mir on the ground.
Mir is working for a kimura but Gonawyn is defending it quite comfortably.

The fighters are battling for position here. Gonawyn manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Gonawyn has control of Mir's left arm, preventing Mir from doing any damage.

Mir got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gonawyn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mir has managed to get both his arms back between Gonawyn's legs - danger averted.
Mir is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mir shoots for a takedown but Gonawyn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Mir doesn't manage to clinch there - Gonawyn circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Gonawyn. No joy for Mir on that attempt.

Mir gets caught flat footed, as Gonawyn shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Mir is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gonawyn defends well.
Mir wants to stand and escape but Gonawyn is having none of it.

Gonawyn slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Mir tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Frank Mir will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Gonawyn dives in and scores a takedown into Mir's guard.

Gonawyn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mir swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mir is pulling down on Gonawyn's head. It's preventing any offense from Gonawyn, at least for the moment.

Frank Mir has got the better of the ground game so far.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Frank Mir wasn't active enough on the ground.
Mir stuffs the takedown attempt from Gonawyn. Gonawyn gets slowly back to his feet.

Horrible takedown by Gonawyn or perhaps it was just good defense by Mir which made him look bad.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gonawyn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mir looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Mir is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gonawyn pulls his head out easily.
Mir moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close second round but Frank Mir will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Oh but Mir is tightening it up a little... Gonawyn has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Gonawyn reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Gonawyn taps out! Nice BJJ there by Mir!
