Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Trang Troc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Davi Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Troc comes to the cage accompanied by Dr. Octagon - Real Raw. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Davi Alves!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alves shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Troc desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Alves thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Troc sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Alves thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Troc's head.

Alves is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Troc is just riding it out for now. Alves eventually gives up the hold.

Alves wants to free his trapped foot but Troc is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Alves changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Troc tries to avoid it but Alves manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Troc to the ground. Troc escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A combination from Troc does no damage.

and Troc makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Troc fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Alves manages to avoid it.

Alves tries to keep at a distance but Troc has taken the fight into the clinch.
Troc gets underhooks to prevent Alves's takedown attempt.

Alves breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Troc throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Alves sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Troc connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Alves slips a straight right by Troc.
Trang Troc is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Alves throws a hook but Troc blocks it.
Some wild striking there from Alves.
Troc tries to clinch there but Alves circles away.

Alves looks to land a body kick but Troc moved away.
Troc throws a right and a left that both miss.
Troc displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Alves throws out the jab.
Alves walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Alves rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Troc counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Alves drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Alves takes a swing at Troc's ribcage but misses.
Troc tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Alves was well out of range. Poor timing from Troc.

Troc throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Alves.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Alves throws out a loose jab but Troc uses good head movement to avoid it.

Troc manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Alves is working to get back to half guard.

Alves manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Alves is trying to get back to full guard.
Alves is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Alves is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Troc's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Troc's back!
Alves punches the canvas rather than the man.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Troc is taking damage to the body and head.

Alves is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Troc is defending well though. Alves let's go of the attempt for now.

Davi Alves showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Alves drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Troc gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Alves throws a head punch that misses.
Alves blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Troc prevents a body shot from Alves.
Troc content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Alves misses with a punch to the body.
Troc is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Trang Troc has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Davi Alves.
Alves goes for a takedown in the clinch but Troc prevents it.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Troc takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Alves ducks right into an uppercut from Troc.

Troc swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Alves is still on wobbly legs! Can Troc finish him?

Troc misses with a head kick.

Alves gets tackled into the cage by Troc. Troc maintains the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Troc with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Troc creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Alves's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Alves drops to his knees and Troc pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Trang Troc!
Trang Troc retains his featherweight title!
A very excited looking Trang Troc made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
