Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matts Serra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jp Flaim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matts Serra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jp Flaim!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serra dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Serra looking to score a takedown here. Flaim is defending well but Serra drives through and ends up in Flaim's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Serra stands and throws Flaim's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Flaim struggling a bit here.
Serra takes a little break here. Flaim wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Serra is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Flaim is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Flaim manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Serra is pressing down on Flaim's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Flaim controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Serra has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Flaim can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Flaim is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Serra working for a triangle but Flaim defends it easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Flaim accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Serra lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Flaim!

Flaim manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Flaim makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Flaim.
Serra slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Serra wants to pass the guard but Flaim is keeping the position.
Flaim pulls Serra in close to prevent any damage.
Serra trying to control but Flaim is working from the bottom.

Serra looking to sit in guard and control but Flaim gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Serra is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Serra utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Flaim working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Flaim cracks Serra with a solid left hand.
Flaim wants to control from the top but Serra keeps moving.

Serra working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Flaim doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Flaim manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Flaim lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Flaim avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Flaim is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Matts Serra will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Serra closes the distance and clinches.
Flaim is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Flaim is struggling to control the position.
Serra tries to break free but Flaim pushes him back against the cage.

Serra lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Flaim or not.

Serra bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Serra swings for the body but Flaim moves out of range.
Flaim misses with a takedown
and Serra counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Serra scores with a three punch combo!

Serra cracks Flaim with a right hand to the side of the head.
Serra misses the shot to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Donk. Flaim catches Serra right on the button with a cross.

and Serra counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Serra scores with a hook to the body. Flaim takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Serra shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Flaim but Flaim pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Flaim has his takedown stuffed
and Serra counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Matts Serra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jp Flaim.
Flaim is breathing heavily.
Serra dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Serra gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Flaim goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Serra breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Flaim shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Serra closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Flaim's guard.

Flaim has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Serra drops back, looking for a kneebar! Flaim looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Flaim looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Flaim!

That's time! Serra's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Flaim shoots for a double leg takedown but Serra sprawls well. He's pushed Flaim's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jp Flaim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Serra escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Flaim gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
