Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Young Tutankhamon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jesus Quintana!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quintana changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tutankhamon tries to avoid it but Quintana manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tutankhamon to the ground. Tutankhamon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Tutankhamon is looking to clinch.
Young Tutankhamon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tutankhamon misses with a takedown attempt
enabling Quintana to counter with a crisp jab.
Nice takedown defense from Quintana. No joy for Tutankhamon on that attempt.
Quintana lands a nice shot that snaps Tutankhamon's head back.
Quintana fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tutankhamon manages to avoid it.

Tutankhamon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Quintana but Quintana pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Quintana thuds his right hand into Tutankhamon's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Quintana might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Tutankhamon kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Quintana has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Quintana has control of Tutankhamon's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Tutankhamon regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Quintana looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Tutankhamon is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Quintana takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tutankhamon is squirming around, avoiding Quintana's attempts to control the action.
Quintana is looking to work his way around to Tutankhamon's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Tutankhamon has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Quintana goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Tutankhamon is on top in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Quintana tries for a takedown but Tutankhamon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tutankhamon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That was a close second round but I would say that Young Tutankhamon will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Tutankhamon pushes Quintana away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Quintana gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The fight stays on the outside here - Quintana looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Quintana ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tutankhamon moves away.
Tutankhamon feints and then cracks Quintana's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Quintana down.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Quintana scores with the left hand. Tutankhamon knows he should have avoided that one.

Well Quintana has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
