Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dante Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mateus Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carver comes to the cage accompanied by Machine Gun - Manu Chao. Mateus Allen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dante Carver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mateus Allen!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen scores with a jab. Carver acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Allen waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Carver.
A big right from Allen misses.
Allen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Allen throws a lazy right hand but Carver sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Allen throws a jab when Carver was well out of range.
Carver moves out of range of the strikes.
Carver tries to score a power double leg takedown but Allen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carver somewhat.

Allen drives through with a takedown into Carver's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Allen controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Carver is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Allen trying to control but Carver is working from the bottom.
Carver looking to hit a scissor sweep but Allen is one step ahead there.
Allen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carver. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Allen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Carver manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Carver can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Allen is looking to escape.

Allen is in all sorts of trouble here.

Allen tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Carver tries to control but Allen wriggling away.

Carver has control of Allen's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Allen regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Carver will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Allen keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Allen is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Carver landing strikes from the mount.
Carver has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Carver looking to control but Allen is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Allen tries to lock up and control but Carver gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Carver jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Allen manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Carver tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carver has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That was a close round but I would say that Dante Carver will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

We're going to have a standup here because Dante Carver wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Carver jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Allen walks away with a smile on his face. Carver gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dante Carver. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Carver shoots in looking for a takedown but Allen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carver's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Carver creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Carver wants the takedown. Allen is fighting it off but Carver persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Allen's guard against the cage.

I would just about give that final round to Mateus Allen.
