Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Madison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edson Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Perry's choice of entrance music: Shadow of the Day. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Edson Perry was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Madison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Edson Perry! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perry throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Madison shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Perry as he avoids it easily. Madison throws a head kick that misses. Madison tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Perry swivels and escapes. James Madison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Perry scores with a sloppy right hand. Madison should have avoided that one.
It looks like James Madison has been cut. A jab from Perry finds it's way through Madison's defenses. Madison slips a jab and a cross from Perry.
Perry lands with a good body shot. Perry cracks Madison with an open hand slap. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Danga de danga de dang - Perry scores with a four punch combination! Perry works the jab nicely.
Madison is rocked! Perry tries to sprawl but Madison drives through with a takedown into half guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Madison working Perry over with strikes. Madison is keen to just control but Perry is a slippery customer. Perry wants to get back to full guard. Madison thows a huge punch but Perry dodges it nicely.
Madison is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's one minute gone in the round. Madison misses with a head shot. Perry uses the momentum to regain guard. Madison throwing strikes from guard but Perry blocks nicely. Perry lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Madison! Perry content just to control the position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Madison is looking to get to half guard. Madison sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Madison is pressing down on Perry's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Madison wants to hit a switch here but Perry passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Madison there! Madison tries to reverse the position but Perry maintains control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Madison is working hard here to advance position. Perry wants to control the pace but Madison is squirming around nicely. Madison is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Madison has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Madison taking shots to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Madison is working to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Madison is squirming around, avoiding Perry's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Edson Perry dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Madison's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Perry misses with a low kick.
Perry connects with a nice looking jab.
Madison takes one to the side of the head.
James Madison's cut is getting worse. Perry throws a hook but Madison avoids it easily. Nice shot lands for Perry. Madison with a poor takedown and Perry cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Perry defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Madison. Madison shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Perry pinned against the cage. Perry gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Madison. That's going to take a lot out of him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Perry fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Perry tests Madison's chin there with a solid looking shot. Perry lands a left and a right that send Madison crashing to the mat, dazed. Perry thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Oh Madison is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
James Madison's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Madison doesn't succeed with the takedown and Perry counters with a right hand from hell and Madison is out cold! A vicious knockout!
