Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Bezanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jason Bezanson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Carter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Bezanson! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bezanson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Carter moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Horrible takedown by Carter or perhaps it was just good defense by Bezanson which made him look bad. Bezanson throws a series of punches but Carter moves out of range. The fight stays on the outside here - Bezanson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Good shot there by Bezanson. Nice sprawl there from Bezanson as Carter shoots in. David Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bezanson throws a nice looking combination but Carter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Carter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bezanson pinned against the cage. Bezanson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Carter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bezanson checks a leg kick. Nice defenses there by Bezanson. Carter swats away the attempt to clinch by Bezanson. Carter tries to keep at a distance but Bezanson has taken the fight into the clinch. Bezanson is trying to break free.

Carter is breathing heavily. Carter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Bezanson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Carter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Bezanson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Carter prevents Bezanson from breaking the clinch. Carter is trying to break free. Bezanson breaks from the clinch.
Carter throws a combination that misses and Bezanson counters with a takedown into side control. Bezanson working the head and body with strikes. Bezanson is looking to take a break and control but Carter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Carter on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Bezanson trying to control the position but Carter is working away. Bezanson cracks Carter with an elbow. That is naaassty. Bezanson tries to stand but Carter is controlling his head. Bezanson decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Carter throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bezanson's waist but Bezanson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Carter off to one side. Bezanson tries to clinch but Carter is having none of it. Carter gets a takedown into half guard. Carter tries to pass to full mount but Bezanson defends it. Bezanson is looking to improve his position.
Carter wants to free his trapped foot but Bezanson is holding on for dear life with his legs. Carter trying to control from half guard but Bezanson is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carter is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Bezanson is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
