Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Hollands (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Young comes into the arena with Nickelback blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joseph Young! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frankie Hollands! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hollands shoots in for a takedown but Young shows good takedown defense. Hollands closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Young's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Young is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hollands dives into side control.
Hollands is staying tight to Young's torso, preventing him from escaping. Young is trying to control Hollands's posture but Hollands avoids it. Hollands is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Young tries to bench press Hollands off him but Hollands keeps the position. Hollands tries to move to mount but Young blocks the move with his legs. Hollands is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Young has escaped the position, nice work there. Young is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hollands is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hollands tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hollands has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Young is trying to improve his position. Hollands advances nicely into full mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hollands tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Young is desperately trying to improve his position but Hollands has a good base and remains in mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hollands tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Young wants to control but Hollands is having none of it. Young looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight. Hollands controlling from the full mount. The referee warns Young that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Hollands takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. It looks like Hollands might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Hollands's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Hollands pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Young is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Young is working to get back to half guard.
Hollands lands a nice shot to the head. Hollands looking to control and managing it successfully. This has been an exciting period of action! Hollands goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Young is on top in guard.
Hollands lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Young! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hollands controlling from the full mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Young connects with a crisp jab. Joseph Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hollands slaps away a takedown attempt from Young, before circling back to the center of the mat. Young shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Young wants to stand up but Hollands has a hold of him and won't allow it. Hollands pushes Young off and gets back to his feet. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hollands, right into the meat.
Hollands shoots in and bounces Young off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hollands is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hollands is pushing down on Young's leg trying to pass to half guard. Young is fighting to maintain full guard but Hollands has managed to sneak the leg through. Young trying to control from the bottom.
Hollands is figuring out what he wants to do next. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Frankie Hollands has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Hollands displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Young.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hollands shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Young misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hollands shoots in looking for a takedown. Young tries to sprawl out of it but Hollands keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Young manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Hollands has closed the distance and engaged Young in a clinch.

Young shoots in and drives through. Hollands sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joseph Young. That's going to take a lot out of him. Young has his takedown stuffed and Hollands counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Young's guard now. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hollands controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Hollands slips nicely into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Young is trying to stand up here but Hollands is controlling him well. Still in half guard, Hollands seems content to control. Frankie Hollands has got the better of the ground game so far. Young is trying to stand back up but Hollands is controlling him
OK we're going to have a standup here. Frankie Hollands hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Hollands throws a head kick that half lands.
Hollands throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Young's head. Hollands shoots in but no luck this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Young scores with a nice head shot. Joseph Young is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Young shoots in looking for a takedown but Hollands manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Young's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Hollands fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Young to the ground. Hollands is now in Young's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hollands is looking to work some ground and pound but Young has wrist control. Hollands gets to his feet. Young looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Young displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hollands. Young looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hollands! Hollands tries to hold on but Young pushes him away. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Young lands a big elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frankie Hollands showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Young throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Hollands counters with a nice double leg into side control. Young won't be happy with that. Young knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hollands on the ground. Young is looking to reverse the position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hollands prevents Young from escaping the position. Young is trying to control Hollands's posture but Hollands avoids it. Young being controlled for a moment. Hollands tries for a kimura but Young is defending well.

Hollands working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Hollands looks up at the clock and then as Young takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hollands smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Hollands should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Young tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hollands wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Hollands has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Young dives in and grabs Hollands's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hollands pushes down on Young's head and hops out. Hollands looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Young trying to control but Hollands postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Young tries to roll over but Hollands keeps him under control. Hollands keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

And that's the end of the fight! Frankie Hollands comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hollands has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
