Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luigi Fry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sawao Kato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Luigi Fry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sawao Kato! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Kato. Those never looked like landing. Kato feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Kato throws a big elbow that misses. Kato with a flurry of punches that miss. Fry pulls Kato in to control the position. Kato has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kato throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fry works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Fry seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Luigi Fry just wasn't active enough. Kato fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Kato works over Fry's head and body with a nice combination. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Fry displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kato. Kato tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Fry closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kato's guard. Fry landing with the ground and pound. Fry is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fry trying to control but Kato is working from the bottom. Kato working for a triangle but Fry defends it easily.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Fry's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Fry trying to control but Kato is working from the bottom. Kato escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fry gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kato is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Fry has his hands clasped together but Kato extends an breaks Fry's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Kato.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sawao Kato!
