Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flavius Aetius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Connor comes to the cage accompanied by Ça vaut mieux que d'attraper la scarlatine by Ray Venture. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Connor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 9 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Flavius Aetius! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Connor misses with a double jab.
Connor throws an overhand right that lands on Aetius's shoulder, as Aetius tries to avoid the shot. Connor loads up on a big right hand but Aetius slips the punch. A leg kick checked by Connor. Connor misses with a body shot.
Aetius steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Connor. Connor is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Connor looks for the body kick but Aetius saw that one coming. Connor misses with a body shot
and Aetius counters with a nice double leg into side control. Connor won't be happy with that. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Connor struggling a bit here. Aetius creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Connor is looking for a sweep. Connor is working hard here to advance position. Aetius tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Connor might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Connor struggling a bit here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aetius creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Aetius wants to lay and pray for a moment but Connor keeps working. Aetius is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Connor is looking for a sweep. Aetius looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Aetius scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Connor to see if he's OK. Aetius has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Connor is looking for a sweep. The referee asks Aetius politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Aetius prefers to stall for the moment though. Aetius wants to control but Connor is keeping him busy. Connor is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Connor is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Aetius off and has taken his back! Aetius is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A bit of a pause in the action here. Connor controlling the positon.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Connor lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Aetius hold on?!
Connor is persistently looking for the submission but Aetius is defending it well.
Aetius defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Connor's arms. Connor lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Aetius.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A bit of a pause in the action here. Connor controlling the positon. Connor landing with strikes. Connor missing with strikes. Aetius tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Aetius gets back to half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Connor is trying to control. Aetius wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Connor will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Aetius ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Connor's corner calls for a 1-2. Connor obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Aetius takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Connor avoids the head kick by Aetius.
John Connor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Connor throws a big shot that misses. Connor feints a jab promting Aetius to slip. Connor then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Aetius slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Aetius lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Aetius throws a nice inside leg kick. Aetius takes a jab right on the kisser.
Connor steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Aetius. That one must have hurt. A left lands for Connor. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Connor misses the jab. Connor drops Aetius with a left and a right! Oh, Aetius is hurt - Connor dives into side control looking to finish!
It looks like Flavius Aetius has been cut. Aetius is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Connor off and has taken his back!
That's one minute gone in the round. A lull in the action here.
Aetius is looking for the choke from the back position but Connor is controlling his hands well. Connor needs to remain patient if he's going to get out of this sticky situation. Connor is keeping busy.
Connor trying to control the position but Aetius manages to sink in the hooks. Connor is in bad spot here.
Connor is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Connor manages to reverse the position and now he's in Aetius's guard. Nice work there by Connor.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Connor wants to pass the guard but Aetius is keeping the position. Connor looking to sit in guard and control but Aetius gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Connor is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Connor looking for a guillotine here but Aetius defends easily.
This has been an exciting period of action! Connor looking to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aetius trying to control but Connor is working from the bottom. Aetius drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Connor dives on top into guard. Connor passes into half guard. Connor passes the guard and advances to mount! Aetius keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Connor thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Connor trying to control but Aetius is having none of it. Aetius tries to get back to half guard but can't. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Connor postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Aetius looks a forlorn figure.
Connor can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Aetius is looking to escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Connor dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Flavius Aetius's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Connor misses with a few strikes there.
Aetius fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Aetius on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Aetius misses with a low kick as Connor jumps back. A solid body kick from Aetius. Connor digs a good body shot into Aetius's ribs. Connor throws out a loose jab but Aetius uses good head movement to avoid it. A solid leg kick lands there for Aetius.
Aetius goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Aetius fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Aetius misses with a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Connor takes a swing at Aetius's ribcage but misses. Connor throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Aetius avoids a low kick by using good footwork. A low kick from Connor is predictable there and Aetius counters with a good, hard body kick but Connor shrugs it off. Aetius cracks the inside of Connor's front leg. Connor throws a lazy right hand but Aetius sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Connor misses with a wild body shot. Aetius throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. John Connor is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Connor takes a swing at Aetius's ribcage but misses. Aetius looking to score a takedown here. Connor is defending well but Aetius drives through and ends up in Connor's guard. Connor controls Aetius momentarily but Aetius frees himself. Connor working a defensive guard but Aetius manages to pass into side control anyway.
Connor takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aetius working the ground and pound from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Connor tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Aetius wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Aetius trying to control the action but Connor is working from the bottom. Connor is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Connor on the wrong end of some ground and pound. A lull in the action here as Aetius stalls from top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aetius creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Aetius working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Connor is trying to control Aetius's posture but Aetius avoids it. Sloppy strikes there by Aetius. John Connor is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Aetius grinds an elbow into Connor's temple. Aetius just content to control the position. Aetius tries to score with some ground and pound. Connor controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Aetius looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aetius working away. Connor is not content to let Aetius control the position. Flavius Aetius has got the better of the ground game so far. Aetius throws a strike aimed at the side of Connor's head but Connor avoids it well. Flavius Aetius has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Aetius trying to control the action but Connor is working from the bottom. Aetius tries to score with some ground and pound. Connor controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Flavius Aetius comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Connor has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
