Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between jt Wash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sogo Togawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sogo Togawa has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with jt Wash's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, jt Wash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sogo Togawa!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Togawa stuffs the takedown attempt from Wash. Wash gets slowly back to his feet.
Wash forces Togawa back against the cage and clinches.

Wash pushes Togawa off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Wash shoots for a double leg takedown but Togawa sprawls well. He's pushed Wash's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Togawa shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wash's guard.
Wash has his foot on Togawa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Togawa works his way back into a safe position though.

Wash fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Togawa to the ground. Wash is now in Togawa's guard.

Wash is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Togawa is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Wash creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wash is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Togawa has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Wash is looking to control Togawa but Togawa is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Togawa covers up after that shot from Wash.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Wash throws a sloppy head kick and Togawa moves out of range easily.

Wash drops back, looking for a kneebar! Togawa looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Togawa looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Togawa!

Togawa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wash tries to avoid it but Togawa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wash to the ground. Wash escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
jt Wash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sogo Togawa.
Wash shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Togawa as he jumps to the side.
Togawa shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Togawa showed some decent athleticism there.

Togawa seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Togawa is just content to waste time from the top position. Wash takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Wash stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Togawa swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Togawa wants to hit a switch here but Wash passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Togawa there!

Togawa reaches up to try and control the position but Wash seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Togawa rolls and tries to escape and now Wash has his back!
