PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stavros Drivas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bertrand Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drivas comes into the arena with Rob Hubbard - Commando blaring out of the sound system. The key to victory for Stavros Drivas has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bertrand Morris!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drivas tries to clinch but Morris is having none of it.

and Morris counters with a shoot takedown. Drivas fights it but they end up in guard.
Drivas is trying to control the position but Morris postures up.

Morris gets to his feet. Drivas looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Drivas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Morris is one step ahead there.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Drivas avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Morris manages to get to full guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Morris can do anything to dispel that myth.

Morris is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Drivas is just riding it out for now. Morris eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Drivas is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Morris's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Morris's back!

Bertrand Morris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Morris tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Morris has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Morris has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Drivas is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Morris yanks on the arm and Drivas is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Morris.
