PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Silas Hopkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Khalil Zidane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hopkins comes to the cage accompanied by She Ain't You by: Chris Brown. Zidane has chosen Tool - Jimmy as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Silas Hopkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Khalil Zidane!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopkins moves away from the strike by Zidane.
Zidane lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Zidane stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Hopkins is rocked!

It looks like Silas Hopkins has been cut.
Hopkins tries to score a power double leg takedown but Zidane sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hopkins somewhat.
Oh Hopkins is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hopkins tries to bum rush Zidane with a series of wild strikes but Zidane uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Khalil Zidane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zidane connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Hopkins fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Zidane looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Hopkins seems to have got his legs back now.
Hopkins stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Zidane.
Hopkins looks to land a combination but Zidane avoids it well.
Hopkins throws a right and a left that Zidane avoids nicely.
Zidane digs a good body shot into Hopkins's ribs.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Zidane lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hopkins's sensitive parts.
Hopkins on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Hopkins with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Zidane to score with a decent uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hopkins takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Hopkins tries to clinch up but Zidane circles away and keeps his distance.
Zidane connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Hopkins momentarily.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Zidane.
Hopkins tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Hopkins finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
That kick from Zidane tenderised Hopkins's leg. Hopkins is trying to keep his angry face on.
Zidane works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Zidane feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hopkins's calf.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hopkins gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Zidane gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

In his post fight interview, Khalil Zidane started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
