Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taylor Clark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shamus McFey!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clark cracks McFey with a right hand to the side of the head.
Decent striking displayed by Clark there.
McFey is looking to score with low kicks.
McFey takes one to the chin there.
Clark paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
McFey lands with a good body shot.
McFey lands a nice leg kick that just misses Clark's sensitive parts.
A head kick misses from McFey.
Clark throws a head kick but McFey moves out of range.
McFey avoids the body shot from Clark.
McFey drops his hands momentarily and Clark takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Clark connects with an inside leg kick.
McFey attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Clark is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Clark feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits McFeys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

McFey loads up on a big right hand but Clark slips the punch.

Clark displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McFey throws out the jab.
Clark is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
McFey tries to score a power double leg takedown but Clark sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McFey somewhat.

McFey shoots for a double leg takedown but Clark sprawls well. He's pushed McFey's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Taylor Clark has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shamus McFey.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Clark connects with a leg kick. McFey looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Clark's corner calls for a 1-2. Clark obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Clark is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
McFey has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from McFey there as he acknowledges the shot.
Clark lands with a hook. McFey tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

McFey will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Clark throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

McFey has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
McFey looks to land a left hand but Clark moved out of range nicely.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McFey throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

McFey fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Clark manages to avoid it.
Clark connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
McFey's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Clark connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! McFey scrambles back to his feet.

Clark jabs McFey right on the nose. McFey blinks but takes it well.
McFey takes one to the chin there.
McFey throws a leg kick but Clark moved away.

Clark rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McFey moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

McFey swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Clark lands with a kick to the temple. McFey shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Clark scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Clark, as that shot connected.
McFey takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Clark takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Clark cracks McFey with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Clark lands a really nice looking cross but McFey seems unphased.
Clark uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Clark throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
McFey just misses with a punch to the body.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but McFey might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Clark has got the better of the exchanges.

and Clark counters with a low kick, right behind McFey 's knee.
McFey cracks Clark with a good jab.

McFey sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Clark cracks a nice hook into McFey's ribs.
Some bone on bone action there as McFey checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Clark throws the left hand but McFey avoids the punch easily.
Clark throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McFey.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
McFey takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
McFey thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McFey misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
McFey avoids the attempt from Clark to control.
Clark is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

McFey scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Clark?
McFey unloads with some shots from mount but Clark bucks and avoids them well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McFey prevents Clark from getting the reversal.
McFey has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Clark wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by McFey.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, McFey cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

I would just about give that final round to Shamus McFey.
I think Clark has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
