Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gareth Bale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kalib Koscheck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koscheck is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by LL Cool J - Mama Said Knock You Out. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bale fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Koscheck looking to control but Bale is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Bale is squirming around, avoiding Koscheck's attempts to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Koscheck has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bale's face.
Bale holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Koscheck tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Bale wants to control but Koscheck is having none of it.

Bale is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Koscheck thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Koscheck trying to pass the guard but Bale defending well.
Koscheck wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bale keeps working.
Bale wants to control but Koscheck is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Bale is staying active underneath Koscheck, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Koscheck prevents Bale from standing back up.
Koscheck is trying to control. Bale wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kalib Koscheck wasn't active enough on the ground.
Koscheck takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Bale slaps away a takedown attempt from Koscheck, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Koscheck swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Koscheck misses the body punch
and Bale makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Koscheck is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bale sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Gareth Bale has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kalib Koscheck.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Koscheck checks a leg kick.
Bale misses with a wild body shot.
Bale throws a sloppy head kick and Koscheck moves out of range easily.
Koscheck closes the distance and clinches up with Bale, looking for a takedown. Koscheck pushes Bale against the cage but Bale circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bale lands a big head kick that sends Koscheck tumbling to the mat! Bale takes a step backwards and waves Koscheck back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Koscheck is rocked!
Bale is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Koscheck flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Koscheck is out cold! Bale holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gareth Bale!
