PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack McClusky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raoul Duke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McClusky kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I Stand Alone. Duke is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bat Country - Avenge Sevenfold. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 45 - 20 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jack McClusky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Raoul Duke!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Dean Styles and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McClusky throws a lazy right hand but Duke sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Duke moves into range and clinches up with McClusky.
Duke can't find room to land a body shot as McClusky controls the action.
McClusky fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
McClusky swings away with an uppercut that misses.
A head punch on the inside from Duke fails to land.
Duke tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Duke misses with an elbow strike.
Duke pushes McClusky back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Duke lands with a right to the head.
Duke misses with a shot to the kidneys.
McClusky wants to get back to striking at distance but Duke won't allow it.
McClusky is trying to maintain a safe position but Duke gets an underhook and turns McClusky into the cage.

McClusky pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McClusky connects with an inside leg kick.
McClusky rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Duke counters with a nice uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McClusky misses with a body shot.
Duke fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Duke tries to close the distance and clinch up but McClusky swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Duke ducks right into an uppercut from McClusky.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts McClusky, as that shot connected.

Duke has managed to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McClusky is trying to maintain a safe position but Duke gets an underhook and turns McClusky into the cage.
McClusky lands a nice uppercut.
Duke swings wildly with an uppercut but McClusky uses good head movement to avoid it.
Duke creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through McClusky's defenses.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
McClusky seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Duke is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.
McClusky throws a punch but it's blocked by Duke.

McClusky's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
McClusky has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Duke finds it's way round the side to connect with McClusky's head.
Jack McClusky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McClusky misses with a lunging right hand
and Duke counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters circling - McClusky throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Duke throws out a loose jab but McClusky uses good head movement to avoid it.
McClusky swats away the attempt to clinch by Duke.

Duke moves into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Duke working aggressively here.
The referee calls for McClusky to work.
Duke tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and McClusky avoids it.
Duke lands with a light punch inside.
Duke using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
McClusky is breathing heavily.
McClusky blocks an elbow strike.
A short left from Duke.
McClusky misses with the head strike.

McClusky is rocked!
Duke pushes McClusky against the cage. Duke is working some dirty boxing. Duke pushes off with a quick right hook! McClusky goes down! McClusky tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Duke moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Raoul Duke!
A relieved looking Raoul Duke thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
