Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hakeem Nicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johan Moneymaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nicks comes to the cage accompanied by Money by i fight dragons. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hakeem Nicks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johan Moneymaker!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Nicks or perhaps it was just good defense by Moneymaker which made him look bad.
Moneymaker tries to bum rush Nicks with a series of wild strikes but Nicks uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Moneymaker shoots in for a double leg but Nicks sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Moneymaker avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nicks dodges the punch combination from Moneymaker.
Nicks swats away the attempt to clinch by Moneymaker.

Moneymaker rushes Nicks and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Moneymaker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nicks throws a sloppy head kick and Moneymaker moves out of range easily.
Nicks throws a leg kick
and Moneymaker counters with a three punch combo that has Nicks backing up. Nicks nods at Moneymaker to acknowledge the strikes.
Nicks has a takedown stuffed.
A left and a right from Moneymaker both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Hakeem Nicks has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nicks avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Moneymaker uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Nicks has time to react.
Moneymaker doesn't manage to clinch there - Nicks circles away.
Nicks tries to clinch but Moneymaker moves out of range.

Moneymaker decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Moneymaker is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Nicks tries to get to full guard but Moneymaker has control of the leg.
It looks like Moneymaker is going to stand back up.
Nicks throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Moneymaker wants to free his trapped foot but Nicks is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Nicks trying to control here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nicks pushes Moneymaker off looking to stand but Moneymaker dives back in and keeps control.
Nicks trying to hold on to Moneymaker's head to control him but Moneymaker postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nicks is refusing to be controlled, as Moneymaker sits in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Moneymaker scores with a three punch combo!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Moneymaker throws a right hand that Nicks ducks under and follows up with a left that Nicks also avoids with ease.
Nicks tries to score a power double leg takedown but Moneymaker sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nicks somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hakeem Nicks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Moneymaker tries to clinch but Nicks is having none of it.
Nicks looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Moneymaker throws out a powerful jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Nicks moves into the clinch.
Nicks tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Moneymaker scores with a nice hook to the head.


Nicks is rocked!
Nicks is breathing heavily.
Nicks has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Moneymaker is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Oh Nicks is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Moneymaker comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Moneymaker breaks from the clinch.
Nicks closes the distance but Moneymaker moves to the side
and Moneymaker counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Johan Moneymaker!
Johan Moneymaker took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'I want to thank LA Elite Clothing for getting my something for me towear and thank my fans and my coach at my corner and I want that 155 title so Wacth out.And Rich i have no respect for you and i ask for this fight to prove that i dont like you or respect you but i respect your fighting you little'.
