Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sic Wit It!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wit It dives in and scores a takedown into Cardoso's guard.
Cardoso trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Wit It throws a big right hand that misses.
Cardoso has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Cardoso has a closed guard, preventing Wit It from standing up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round but I would say that Sic Wit It will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Wit It shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cardoso lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Wit It tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cardoso paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cardoso shoots in for a takedown but Wit It shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cardoso.
Cardoso changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wit It tries to avoid it but Cardoso manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wit It to the ground. Wit It escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sic Wit It has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Cardoso.
Wit It throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Cardoso tries for a takedown but Wit It sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Wit It wants to slow Cardoso down by chopping away at his legs.
Sic Wit It seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wit It shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cardoso manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Cardoso pulls guard effortlessly.

Wit It is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Wit It wants to get up but he can't break Cardoso's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cardoso tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Wit It gets to his feet. Cardoso looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Wit It lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Wit It throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cardoso tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wit It is in Cardoso's guard.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Cardoso has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wit It can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Cardoso gets tackled into the cage by Wit It. Wit It maintains the clinch.
Wit It pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cardoso closes the distance and clinches up with Wit It, looking for a takedown. Cardoso pushes Wit It against the cage but Wit It circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Wit It leaves Cardoso with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Wit It misses with a series of wild punches.
Wit It throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cardoso was covering up waiting for the punch and Wit It finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Wit It gets to his feet - Cardoso follows without any prompting.

Well Wit It has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
