The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Antipov takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Everson throws a wild body kick that Antipov sees coming a mile off.
Everson misses with a low kick.
Antipov checks the leg kick.
Everson lands a high kick!

It looks like Andrei Antipov has been cut.
Antipov sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Antipov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Everson defends it nicely.
Everson misses with a head kick.

Everson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Antipov.

A bone on bone clash there as Antipov blocks the leg kick.
Everson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Antipov has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
A slapping leg kick lands for Everson.

Antipov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Everson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Antipov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Everson, who protects the arm well.

Antipov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
